Controversial rapper Darlington Okoye, known as Speed Darlington, has admitted to being arrested a total of 19 times and detained five times.
He revealed this information in a freestyle video posted on his social media account.
“5 lockups, 19 arrests, I get game but I no dey hear, when you hear this one, na Kuje,” he raps.
In 2024, Darlington was arrested twice for comments he made about Burna Boy and Sean Combs.
He was held at the Kuje Correctional Facility but was released in January after being granted bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
Following his release, Speed Darlington claimed to have narrowly escaped an assassination attempt in Lagos.
His lawyer, Stan Alieke, then announced that he was cutting ties with the rapper in light of these allegations. Despite this, Speed Darlington stated that his lawyer was free to leave if he no longer wanted to represent him.
