Actor Patrick Doyle has criticized Nigerian men who choose to propose to their girlfriends in public, labeling the action as foolish.
He believes that proposing marriage is a personal, intimate moment that should be done in private rather than a spectacle for all to see.
Doyle denounces the practice of hiring cameramen and going through elaborate protocols to propose in public as senseless.
Taking to his Facebook page, Patrick Doyle wrote;
‘’Asking a woman to marry you is perhaps the most intimate experience any 2 persons can be engaged in outside of actual copulation.
This new unwholesome trend of having an entourage on hand with video cameras live streaming the act is, in my view imbecilic.
The epidemic of narcissism and approval addiction consuming many makes me wonder if some people ever had any home training at all.”
