The 2025 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards gathered industry leaders, creators, and trailblazers at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles to honor the groundbreaking contributions of Black women in entertainment.
Actor Aldis Hodge hosted the event, which recognized four exceptional women: Cynthia Erivo, Teyana Taylor, Marla Gibbs, and Raamla Mohamed.
These honorees were celebrated for their creativity, resilience, and impact on-screen and behind the scenes.
This year’s theme, “Scene and Unseen,” emphasized the importance of amplifying the often-overlooked talents of Black women in Hollywood.
It was a powerful reminder of their influence in shaping narratives and breaking industry barriers.
A standout moment of the evening was the presentation of the inaugural Luminary Spotlight Award to Tyra Banks, honoring her enduring legacy in fashion, film, and television. Tyra’s contributions continue to inspire generations, solidifying her as an icon across multiple industries.
Among the distinguished guests was rising star Tyla, who witnessed the powerful moments of recognition and celebration.
