Supermodel and TV mogul Tyra Banks is back and better than ever! The America’s Next Top Model creator graces the cover of ESSENCE, where she reveals her plans for a major modeling comeback.
After her iconic walk at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in October 2024 went viral—garnering 7 million views on Instagram—Banks was inspired to step back into the industry full-time.
“I had no idea it was gonna blow up in the way that it did. So now I am going to model again, officially,” Banks shared. “I’m gonna sign with an agency in Sydney. I’m gonna have agencies in Paris. I’m going to be in New York. Like, I’m just gonna do this.”
Tyra’s return isn’t just about herself—it’s a powerful statement. Her mother encouraged her to embrace this new era, saying:
“You’re not just walking for you this time. You’re 50. You’re walking for so many people. You’re walking for Black women. You’re walking for older women.”
Beyond the runway, Tyra is also setting her sights on the big screen! She’s looking to bring back her beloved film Life-Size for a third installment and is already in talks with a major star to lead the project.
“I want another Black girl for the third one. I was talking to somebody very famous recently about her starring in it… a couple of other girls are calling now, too.”
