The United States has released a list of countries eligible for its 2025 Visa Waiver Program, VWP.
The United Kingdom has been excluded from the program but can still qualify under certain circumstances.
African countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa are not included in the list.
The VWP roster has seen a notable addition with Romania now being a part of it.
The Visa Waiver Program permits citizens from eligible nations to visit the U.S. for tourism or business for a maximum of 90 days without the need for a visa, as stated by the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs.
The agency stated, “Travelers must have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel and meet all requirements explained below.
“If you prefer to have a visa in your passport, you may still apply for a visitor visa.”
The 2025 Visa Waiver Program has also introduced policy updates on permit eligibility, revisions to the list of participating countries, and new travel policies.
