Controversial activist VeryDarkMan has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) plans to frame and arrest him due to his outspoken criticism of the agency and its chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan claimed he received insider information that a prominent lawyer and an influencer recently visited the EFCC’s Abuja office, presenting a video of him spraying money at an event as supposed evidence against him.
According to him, an EFCC officer admitted that he was already on their target list due to his vocal stance against the commission and its leadership.
“EFCC Abuja, I heard you had two visitors today—one an influencer, the other a highly influential lawyer. They brought clips and pictures of me spraying money and said, ‘This is an opportunity to go after VeryDarkMan.’ The officer they spoke to agreed, saying I’ve been speaking against their boss and the EFCC itself. Now, they are teaming up to frame me,” he alleged.
The activist’s claims have sparked reactions online, with many calling for transparency in the EFCC’s dealings. The commission has yet to respond to the allegations.
