South African media personality Bonang Matheba is standing firm in her legal battle against former podcaster Rea Gopane. She insists that she will collect every cent of the R300,000 defamation payout owed to her.
Rea was ordered to pay damages after he falsely claimed on his podcast in 2021 that Bonang introduced the late AKA to cocaine. The court ruled in Bonang’s favor, instructing Rea to cover her legal fees.
However, despite the judgment, the media mogul recently revealed that she has not received any payment. Taking to Twitter, she wrote:
“Good. I WILL receive every single cent.”
Her statement reignited debate online, with mixed reactions from social media users. While some praised her for standing her ground, others labeled her relentless. Despite the controversy, Bonang remains determined to ensure justice is fully served.
