An explosion has been reported at the Trans-Niger Pipeline in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The explosion took place late on Monday night close to the Bodo-Bonny Road construction site. The specific cause of the blast is still under investigation.
The impacted section of the Trans Niger pipeline is currently engulfed in flames.
It is uncertain whether the incident was caused by human intervention, considering the recent warnings from militant groups about targeting oil facilities in the state.
