Kanye West’s public interests have shifted over the years, leading to a variety of personas that blur the line between reality and performance. Despite this, in 2025, he has shown unwavering support for Diddy, standing by the disgraced mogul when few others in the hip hop community have.
In a recent phone conversation shared by West, he and Diddy exchanged mutual admiration, with each praising the other’s character and choices. Their respect for one another is evident, with West previously calling Diddy his “idol” and Diddy now expressing gratitude for his support.
Through their words and actions, Kanye West and Diddy showcase a strong bond and loyalty, even in the face of controversy. “When I see you to your face,” Diddy asserted. “I’m gonna be able to hug and thank you and show you for the rest of your life how much you appreciated.” The Bad Boy founder noted that he always “spoke up” for others when he could, and valued West’s decision to do the same for him. “I ain’t bitter or nothing,” he claimed. “I’m just telling it like it is.”
Kanye West could not have agreed more. The rapper told Diddy that he wanted to present a united front when it came to people who have been “taken in by this fame, media, music.” The notion of family really struck a chord with Diddy, who lamented the number of celebrities and peers who distanced themselves from him after various allegations surfaced. “I really thought that,” the man born Sean Combs asserted. “But right now, you the only family I got. The only family I see.” The topic of metaphorical family became a discussion about real family.
The Bad Boy founder heaped praise on Kanye West for looking after his kids since his arrest. “I just want to thank you so much for taking care of my kids,” the mogul can be heard saying. “Ain’t nobody reach out to them, ain’t nobody call.” Diddy claimed he was grateful to West for taking the Combs family under his “wing” over the past year. Kanye West has not exactly been a textbook role model over the last year. He is arguably the second most polarizing figure in hip hop behind Diddy. Still, he is seemingly unshaken in his loyalty to the mogul.
