Jay-Z is fighting back against what he calls false and malicious allegations, launching a lawsuit against the woman who accused him of rape and her attorney, Tony Buzbee.
The rap mogul, born Shawn Carter, filed the defamation suit in Alabama, claiming that the now-dismissed allegations were strategically designed to damage his reputation and coerce him into a financial settlement.
As previously reported, the Jane Doe accuser alleged that Jay-Z and Diddy sexually assaulted her in 2000 when she was a minor. However, the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.
According to the legal documents, Jay-Z’s team states:
“Defendants devised and executed their plan to accuse Mr. Carter of sexual assault and used national news and media outlets to disseminate the fabricated accusations to millions despite the falsity of the accusation.”
The filing further alleges that Jane Doe has since admitted the claims were false and that her attorney, Tony Buzbee, pressured her into proceeding with the allegations for financial gain.
Jay-Z is now suing both parties for malicious prosecution, abuse of process, civil conspiracy, and defamation, seeking assumed and actual damages, as well as punitive damages.
