American singer Normani shared that her fiancé NFL player DK Metcalf had envisioned marrying her even before they started dating.
In an interview with Vogue, Normani revealed that Metcalf told her he knew he wanted to marry her after seeing her ‘Motivation’ music video in the locker room.
“He was like, ‘The moment that I saw you come up on that screen, I said, ‘That’s going to be my wife. That’s going to be my girlfriend one day.’ I was in a relationship at the time, and then the chips just fell the way that they did,” she said.
Metcalf confirmed their engagement during a press conference, stating that he proposed during a family gathering in Houston, Texas.
The couple made their relationship public in 2023 with the help of singer Ciara, who introduced them following her marriage to Metcalf’s former Seattle Seahawks teammate Russell Wilson.
