The New York Police Department is currently investigating whether Mercado adhered to the requisite protocols for secondary employment while off-duty. All officers within the NYPD are mandated to submit formal documentation if they partake in supplementary occupations during their off-duty hours.

It remains ambiguous whether Mercado infringed upon any departmental regulations by participating in the “Doin That” music video, in which she was depicted wearing a bra and G-string.

The detective achieved viral notoriety following her appearance in the video, where she performed in a suggestive manner in a nightclub, in a VIP section, and even on a bed while clad in lingerie.
