Payment of N77k allowance to start March – NYSC DG assures corpers

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, has proclaimed that all Corps members will henceforth receive their newly established monthly allowance of N77,000, effective from March 2025.

He articulated that both the Scheme and the Federal Government demonstrate a commitment to the welfare of NYSC members and will persist in ensuring that their well-being is consistently prioritized.

The Director General made this announcement on Thursday during an engagement with Corps members at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices located in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja.

Nafiu expressed gratitude towards the Corps members for their altruistic contributions to the nation, urging them to maintain composure, dedication, focus, and discipline.

He commended the visionary founding fathers of the Scheme while advocating for universal support for the initiative.

Nafiu further articulated that the NYSC represents an admirable Scheme that fosters connections and enables graduate youths to appreciate and comprehend the cultural values of regions beyond their own places of origin.

He further asserted that the NYSC management will persist in cultivating the principles of patriotism, discipline, self-restraint, ethical conduct, leadership capabilities, and collaboration within successive cohorts of Corps members.

“With effect from March, you are going to receive the sum of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance.

“NYSC is good at record keeping and l can assure you that your money will be paid. The Nation and the Scheme appreciate you,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of her colleagues at Garki Zone, Corps Member Zaka Deborah Alheri FC/24A/5831, lauded the Director General for his conscientious efforts towards the payment of the increased monthly allowance.
