Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has responded to claims that she flaunted a fake Rolex watch, calling on her brother, Lawrence Daniels (Sweezzy), to address the situation.
The Rolex Controversy
The drama began when Regina shared a video of herself unboxing a Rolex Datejust Two-Tone, which she claimed was worth $30,000.
However, the luxury fashion critique platform T20Luxury challenged the watch’s authenticity, pointing out inconsistencies in its packaging, crown color, and missing date lens.
T20Luxury stated:
“This Rolex Datejust Two-Tone you unboxed is a vintage model, so it shouldn’t come with the modern Rolex box but an older version.”
They further noted that the internal lining color and external material of the box didn’t match Rolex standards.
Regina Calls for Clarification
Following the backlash, Regina deleted her original post and turned to her brother, Lawrence, for clarification.
She wrote on her Instagram story:
“Brother Sweezzy, abeg come and explain because I don’t understand what’s going on.”
Lawrence Fires Back at T20Luxury
In response, Lawrence Daniels shared a clearer image of the Rolex and called out the critics for attempting to tarnish Regina’s reputation.
He commented under their post:
“I don send una Rolex picture o. Next time you ask question, don’t create an impression, except if you enjoy tarnishing people to promote your page! Do better!”
He also urged the platform to balance their reporting, saying:
“As you post negative, post positive, let’s be guided. Regina’s name go make all of una run mad last last.”
Mixed Reactions from Fans
The controversy has sparked debate online, with some fans supporting Regina Daniels while others side with T20Luxury, insisting that celebrities should verify luxury items before showcasing them.
