Shakira has once again delayed a concert due to factors beyond her control.
This time, the show in Santiago, Chile, on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour was postponed just hours before it was scheduled to begin at the Estadio Nacional.
“I am heartbroken that I cannot sing for you today for reasons beyond my control,” the Colombian superstar wrote in a statement posted on social media.
She explained that there were safety concerns regarding the stage production at the stadium.
Shakira was slated to perform on two nights, both of which were sold out.
“To my fans,” the Hips Don’t Lie singer continued in her Sunday update, “you who have been with me for more than 30 years know more than anyone else my professional ethics and how much I strive to always give you the best.
“You can imagine how painful it is for me as an artist to see that after so many efforts to come to this country that I love so much, my show in Chile on this occasion must be rescheduled.”
This marks the third Latin American concert on the tour that has been rescheduled. The previous postponements were due to production issues in Medellín, Colombia, and a health condition in Lima, Peru.
Despite these setbacks, Shakira remains hopeful for the remainder of her tour.
