Starlink is now in Nigeria but for only those earning dollars

Elon Musk, a billionaire from the United States, recently alleged that Starlink is prohibited from operating in South Africa due to discriminatory reasons.

Commenting on a post on his social media platform, X, he wrote: “Starlink is not allowed to operate in South Africa because I’m not Black.”

This conflict regarding its presence in South Africa has endured for a while.

The government of South Africa officially prohibited the importation of Starlink kits in August 2023, hindering its citizens from utilizing the satellite internet service.

Although it is accessible in 17 African countries, including nearby nations like Namibia, Mozambique, and Botswana, South Africa, the largest economy on the continent, remains excluded from the network.
