Wendy Williams has reportedly passed a psychiatric evaluation with a perfect score after being removed from her assisted living facility by ambulance on Monday.
According to TMZ, a psychiatrist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York examined the 60-year-old former talk show host and determined that her mental capacity is fully intact.
Sources told the outlet that Williams scored 10 out of 10 on a capacity test, indicating she is alert and oriented.
This development comes amid Williams’ ongoing legal battle to end her court-ordered guardianship, which has existed since 2022.
The results of her psychiatric exam will reportedly be forwarded to a judge overseeing her case.
Williams’ guardianship has been a point of controversy, especially after her team revealed earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia.
However, in January, Wendy denied having dementia, describing her guardianship as being held in a “prison.”
Sources clarified that this latest evaluation did not assess whether she was misdiagnosed with FTD, only that her mental capacity is intact.
The outcome of this examination could play a crucial role in Williams’ fight for independence.
