Nora Aunor, a renowned veteran actress from the Philippines, passed away at the age of 71 on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.
Her daughter, Lotlot de Leon, shared the news on Instagram but did not reveal the cause of her mother’s death.
Lotlot de Leon; “Nora Aunor, It is with deep sorrow that we announce passing of our beloved mother, celebrated television and movie actress, and a true National Artist of the Philippines, Nora Aunor.
“Her funeral service details to follow. We thank everyone for their support and ask for continued prayers during this time of mourning”.
Aunor, who rose to fame as a singer in the 1960s before pursuing acting, was honored with the prestigious title of “National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts” in 2022.
