Unidentified assailants, armed with machetes and firearms, allegedly besieged the familial domicile of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the early hours of Tuesday, April 16, within the Obeiba-Ihima community, located in the Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to intelligence sources who communicated with Zagazola Makama, the senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, duly informed security authorities of the occurrence.
He elucidated that the assault transpired at approximately 1:00 a.m. and involved a minimum of three armed perpetrators who damaged various sections of the structure, including the shattering of multiple windows.
In response to a distress communication, security operatives from the Okehi Division promptly mobilized and proceeded to the site.
While no injuries were reported and no suspects have been detained to date, security personnel meticulously documented the extent of the damage and have initiated a preliminary inquiry.
Law enforcement sources indicated that the underlying motive for the assault remains ambiguous as investigations continue to be conducted.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who serves as the representative for Kogi Central in the Senate, has yet to issue an official statement concerning the incident as of the time of this report.
