Renowned influencer and content creator, John Merry — popularly known as Beauty Goddess — has finally broken her silence on why she was absent from the wedding of Priscilla Ojo and Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
The lavish ceremony, held over the weekend in Lagos, drew A-list celebrities, entertainment personalities, and Big Brother Naija alumni.
However, Beauty Goddess’s noticeable absence sparked online chatter and criticism from fans who expected her to show up in support.
Addressing the backlash in a recent statement, the influencer revealed that her absence was due to prior travel commitments.
“I just couldn’t cancel my expensive flight because of Priscilla’s wedding. My vacation was already booked,” she said.
She also confirmed that she reached out to Priscilla privately to explain the situation before the wedding. However, what shocked fans even more was her candid admission about the true nature of their relationship.
“You guys are doing the most. Can you guys just chill? I’m so happy for her. But you can’t find 3 videos of us hanging out — no you can’t. How are we friends?” she added.
Beauty Goddess’s comments have reignited debates online about authenticity in influencer friendships and whether social media has exaggerated the closeness between public figures.
