Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Priscilla Ojo has opened up about the public pressure and assumptions her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, reportedly faced in his home country for not having children earlier in life.
Speaking about the singer’s personal journey, Priscilla explained that many people in Tanzania questioned why Juma Jux did not have children or multiple baby mamas like several of his friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.
According to her, some people even went as far as making negative assumptions about his health and masculinity because of his lifestyle choices.
“In his country Tanzania, people thought he was impotent because he did not have a child or babymama like many of his friends and colleagues,” she said.
“They were like, ‘Why is he not having kids like his friends?’ Because obviously, he has been in past relationships.”
Priscilla explained that, despite constant public questioning and comparisons, Juma Jux remained disciplined and intentional about the timing of major life decisions.
“He knew when it was time. He is very disciplined. He knew what he wanted,” she added.
According to her, the singer deliberately refused to let societal pressure or peer influence shape his choices in relationships and family.
“You can roll with certain people and not be like them,” she said.
The comments have since sparked reactions online, with many social media users discussing the cultural expectations often placed on celebrities and public figures, particularly men, regarding marriage, children, and family life.
Some supporters praised Juma Jux for allegedly refusing to succumb to pressure, while others highlighted how public scrutiny around fertility and parenthood can become invasive and unfair.
Juma Jux has long remained one of East Africa’s most recognized music stars, with a career spanning several hit songs, international collaborations, and high-profile relationships that have frequently attracted media attention.
Meanwhile, Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has also maintained a strong online presence through fashion, influencing, and lifestyle content.
Their relationship has continued to attract attention across Nigeria and East Africa, particularly due to the cross-border celebrity attention surrounding both personalities.
For many online observers, Priscilla’s latest comments offer a deeper glimpse into the private societal pressures that public figures sometimes face behind the glamour and fame.
