Jessica Simpson is making a comeback, speaking her truth as she does.
In a recent interview with Fancy Hagood on Trailblazers Radio and PEOPLE, the singer revealed the highs and lows that led to her musical break.
“I took a long break. I was mad at music a bit. After being dropped with a number one country album, I was dropped and I just never understood it.”
Sis has hits, but the industry said otherwise, she revealed:
“They just said I would never recoup if I didn’t give them part of the brand, but my brand was already successful.”
In a 2023 story with Bustle, Jessica Simpson spoke on not having a choice when it came to the music she wanted to make, saying:
“It wasn’t my choice to have Scott Storch or all these producers that [costs] a million dollars a track… I didn’t control those budgets. We were just yes-people. And in saying yes to everything, I lost it all.”
Despite warnings to stay away from music and reality TV, Jessica Simpson made her own lane, stating:
“They told me not to do it. They thought it would ruin my career, and it didn’t.”
Now, with the release of ‘Nashville Canyon, Pt.1’ and her first live performance in 15 years, Simpson is back in the spotlight, following her instincts and showing that her talent has never faded.
