Veteran Nigerian rapper Eedris Abdulkareem recently expressed his admiration for Bola Tinubu as a father to his son, Seyi Tinubu, but criticized him as a leader for Nigerians.
Just days prior, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) had banned Nigerian radio and television stations from playing Eedris Abdulkareem’s song “Tell Your Papa” due to violations of broadcast decency standards.
The memo, dated April 9, 2025, classified the song as Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB) under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, citing it as inappropriate and offensive.
Despite the ban, Eedris Abdulkareem revealed in a recent interview that he was inspired to write the song after watching a video of Seyi Tinubu.
“Seyi repeatedly it more than 6 times. And he looks perfect when he is silence than when you speak. I will advise Seyi to hand the mic to the MC next time. He lacks the charisma of telling the exact economic situation in Nigeria under his father’s government.”
“Tinubu is the best father to Seyi Tinubu, but he is the worst President to Nigerians. Eedris Abdulkareem added that President Tinubu has empowered his son, Seyi but has failed to empower Nigerians by providing jobs and food to eat .
