Vinicius Jr., the Real Madrid star, is reportedly at risk of receiving a two-year suspension from football.
FIFA, the global football authority, is said to be investigating the Brazilian for a possible conflict of interest that may breach its regulations.
Vinicius, widely regarded as one of the top footballers in the world due to his impressive achievements with Real Madrid, has tallied 105 goals and 79 assists in 311 appearances for the club across all competitions.
However, his on-field controversies have drawn attention, and FIFA is now probing deeper.
According to MARCA, the 23-year-old could face a two-year ban for allegedly owning stakes in multiple professional football clubs — a direct violation of FIFA’s ethical rules.
This situation is tied to Vinicius’ link with ALL Agenciamento Esportivo, a company run by his father.
Brazilian company Tiberis Holding do Brasil officially filed a complaint with FIFA’s Ethics Committee on April 7, accusing Vinicius of breaking rules that prohibit players from having either direct or indirect ownership of professional football teams.
He reportedly holds shares in clubs such as Brazil’s Athletic Club de São João del Rei and Portugal’s Alverca.
The allegations refer to FIFA’s Article 20 and Spain’s Article 22 concerning ethics in football.
If found guilty, Vinicius could face sanctions including the forced sale of his stakes in these clubs or a suspension lasting up to two years.
