Whitemoney, a reality star, recently found himself in hot water after media personality Dotun, also known as Do2dtun, called him out for tribal remarks.
During an event at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos where Whitemoney accepted an award on behalf of singer Flavour, he made a statement referring to receiving the award “on behalf of the Igbos.”
Do2dtun took to his social media to express his disapproval of Whitemoney’s choice of words.
“On behalf of the igbos” I am sorry, that was so unnecessary. It didn’t need that type of narrative. It’s an award won by an African; for Afrobeat and a Nigerian.”
In response, Whitemoney took to his social media handle to address the situation.
He explained that he was simply proud to see an Igbo man like Flavour win an award in a genre dominated by Yoruba artists.
He also offered an apology to Flavour if his actions had caused any unintended offense.
