Apple, a major tech company, is expected to pay $95 million to resolve a class-action lawsuit alleging that its Siri voice assistant recorded private conversations without user consent.
The lawsuit claims that Siri-enabled devices collected sensitive information such as medical data, business transactions, and personal moments unintentionally between 2014 and 2024.
If users experienced unintended Siri activations during this time frame, they may be eligible for compensation as part of this settlement. Those who qualify could receive up to $20 per device, with a maximum of $100 for multiple devices.
To be eligible for compensation, individuals must have used Siri-enabled Apple devices like iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches, and Apple TVs between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024.
