Cardi B continues to cement her legacy in the music industry, this time as the recipient of the prestigious ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award, an honor reserved for artists whose influence extends beyond music into cultural transformation.
The Grammy-winning rapper will receive the award at an invitation-only event in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 8. The event will celebrate the top hip-hop, R&B, and gospel songwriters under the ASCAP umbrella.
This latest accolade marks another historic moment in Cardi B’s career. In 2020, she became the first woman to win ASCAP’s Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year Award two years in a row, showcasing her talent and consistency in shaping the sound of modern hip-hop.
ASCAP Chairman Paul Williams praised Cardi B’s influence, stating:
“Cardi B has left an indelible mark on the culture of hip-hop by redefining and challenging the norms for women. Having broken through countless barriers with her unapologetic authenticity and talent, she continues to use her voice to advocate for and inspire others, a true testament to her undeniable impact.”
The Voice of the Culture Award honors ASCAP members who have made a significant cultural and societal impact through their music. Last year’s recipient was R&B legend Usher.
As Cardi B fans celebrate the milestone, many are hopeful the recognition signals new music from the “Like What” hitmaker, whose voice and presence continue to shape not just the charts—but the culture.
