Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is accused of attempting to break down Cassie Ventura’s front door with a hammer following an alleged assault at a hotel.
These new claims were brought forward during Diddy’s ongoing trial in New York on Monday, as Kerry Morgan took the stand.
Morgan, a former friend of Ventura, testified after Ventura’s own appearance in court last week, during which the jury viewed video evidence allegedly showing Combs physically assaulting her in a New York hotel in 2016.
According to Morgan, the abuse extended beyond that incident. She claimed to have witnessed Diddy trying to force entry into Ventura’s residence while she was staying there with the singer.
As reported by the New York Post, Morgan told the court, “He was hitting the door with a hammer to try to open it”, and added she felt “terrified” after seeing Combs through the peephole.
She continued, “I was freaking out. I don’t think (Ventura) cared if (Combs) came in and killed her.”
It was also alleged that Ventura had a black eye during Morgan’s visit, and that Combs arrived at Ventura’s home just 30 minutes after Morgan.
Morgan further testified that she too had been assaulted by Combs in 2018, stating he physically attacked her while demanding to know whether Ventura was unfaithful.
The reported incident allegedly occurred at Ventura’s Hollywood Hills apartment, where Combs “choked” Morgan and left “finger marks on my neck.”
She also testified, “When I got up, he boomeranged a (coat) hanger at my head.”
Morgan said she sought medical attention at an urgent care center, where she was diagnosed with a concussion from the alleged assault. She also noted that the incident ultimately led to the breakdown of her friendship with Ventura.
Diddy is currently facing charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for the purpose of prostitution, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
The trial remains ongoing.
