Hollywood royalty just became family!
Comedy legend Eddie Murphy revealed during a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show that his son, Eric Murphy, has officially tied the knot with Jasmin Lawrence, the daughter of fellow actor and longtime friend Martin Lawrence.
“Actually, they got married, like, two weeks ago,” Murphy, 64, shared on the Thursday episode, adding that the couple opted for a quiet and intimate ceremony rather than a high-profile affair. “They went off… Everybody was making the big wedding plans, and they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.”
The couple, who began dating in 2021, opted for a private church ceremony with only the preacher present. While no big wedding bells rang just yet, Murphy hinted that a celebration might still be on the way. “So I think we’ll have like a big party or something,” he told host Jennifer Hudson.
Murphy also joked about his new familial ties with Martin Lawrence, his co-star in hit films like Boomerang and Life. “Yeah, we’re in-laws,” he laughed. “And he doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding now.”
Eric, 35, is Eddie Murphy’s son with ex-partner Paulette McNeely, while Jasmin, 29, is Martin Lawrence’s daughter with his ex-wife Patricia Southall.
The low-key union of these two second-generation stars is a full-circle Hollywood moment, blending two iconic comedic legacies into one family.
