R&B fans, rejoice — Keyshia Cole is officially working on new music.
While promoting her upcoming ‘The Way It Is’ 20th Anniversary Tour, the Grammy-nominated singer confirmed that she’s back in the studio, crafting what will be her first full-length album in over seven years.
In a recent interview with DJ Envy, Cole was asked directly whether a new album was in the works. Her response? A slightly hesitant but exciting confirmation:
“I am…I am…hopefully…hopefully.”
The emotional spark behind her creative comeback stems from a personal place. Cole revealed that she recently recorded a song inspired by her last relationship — a track that reignited her passion to dive back into a full project.
“It’s like when you feel things,” she explained. “I did a song about my last relationship.”
Media personality Loren LoRosa noted during the interview that it’s been 7 years and 3 months since the release of Cole’s last album — 11:11 Reset (2017). That lengthy hiatus has left fans eagerly awaiting new solo material.
While she’s remained active through collaborations with artists like Hunxho and Elijah Blake, this marks the first official confirmation that a full album is in progress — following hints she dropped back in March.
With the tour set to celebrate two decades of her breakout debut album The Way It Is, and now a new album in development, it looks like 2025 could be a major comeback year for Keyshia Cole.
