Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has disclosed that despite social media activist VeryDarkMan being granted bail, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has yet to release his phone and car, which remain in their custody.

In a statement shared via his social media handle, Adeyanju—who represented VeryDarkMan—confirmed that the bail came without conditions, adding that he personally undertook the responsibility to present the activist whenever summoned.
“Despite everything that has happened, I still like the EFCC Chairman. And there was no condition for VDM’s bail,” Adeyanju wrote.
“I was the one who applied for his bail, and I made an undertaking to produce him anytime he is needed. His phone and car are still with EFCC.”
VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Otse, was recently arrested by the EFCC on money laundering allegations. He has since been released, but the ongoing possession of his personal items by the agency raises questions about the next steps in the case.
