Europa League: ‘I just need a little faith’ – Amorim speaks on leaving Man Utd after losing final to Tottenham

Ruben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, has declared that he will walk away from the club if they choose to dismiss him.

After their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League, Amorim spoke to the press. Brennan Johnson’s goal sealed the victory for Spurs and ended their lengthy wait for a trophy.

This loss adds to United’s dismal season, as they are on track to finish 16th in the Premier League.

Amorim has made it clear that he will not resign unless the club opts to terminate his contract.

He said: “In this moment, I am not here to defend myself. It’s not my style. I have nothing to show to the fans. In this moment [I need] a little bit of faith.

“I am always open. If the board and the fans feel I’m not the right guy, I will go in the next day.

“But I will not quit again. I am confident in my job. As you see, I will not change anything in the way I do things.”
