New Documentary Reveals Financial Fallout Behind Justin Bieber & Scooter Braun Split

Justin Bieber features in WizKid's hit single 'Essence', labels it song of the summer

The long-rumored rift between Justin Bieber and his longtime manager Scooter Braun is finally being peeled back — and the truth may be more tangled than fans expected.

According to a new TMZ documentary special airing May 14 on FOX, a multi-million dollar financial dispute played a major role in ending their years-long professional relationship.

Sources allege that after Bieber abruptly canceled his ‘Justice’ world tour in 2022, he found himself $24 million in debt to tour promoter AEG — despite reportedly receiving a $40 million advance for the trek.

Strapped for cash and unable to repay the debt, Scooter Braun’s company, HYBE, stepped in to cover the cost. In exchange, Bieber allegedly signed a 10-year repayment agreement, but only made one payment before halting further activity.

Things reportedly worsened when Bieber’s camp accused Braun of taking $26 million in excessive commissions, suggesting that Bieber didn’t owe anything at all.

However, an independent PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) audit reportedly found the opposite — that Bieber owed Braun $8.8 million.

While Braun is said to have waived $1 million early on to ease tensions, the damage had already been done.

The financial conflict widened the once inseparable duo’s growing personal and professional divide.

The special is also expected to explore Bieber’s mental health struggles, the impact of the financial drama on his music career, and what the future might hold for one of pop’s biggest stars.
