Popular Nigerian comedian Shank is making headlines — not just for his humor, but for his recent $10,000 win from world-renowned YouTuber Mr Beast during Kai Cenat’s Streamer University event.
Following his viral win, Shank returned to Lagos only to discover that his newfound fortune had turned him into a local magnet for financial expectations.
According to the comedian, friends, including fellow content creator Nasty Blaq, have been reaching out, playfully asking for their own slice of the pie.
But Shank isn’t here for the freeloaders.
In a now-trending video, he addressed the situation with his signature blend of humor and seriousness:
“I’ve been seeing a lot of people looking at me differently now in Lagos. The $10K is for me — it’s not for the whole country. You guys should respect yourselves…”
While his remarks sparked laughter online, they also highlighted the real pressure that public figures often face after sudden financial gain.
Shank’s message is clear: he earned it, he’s keeping it, and everyone else should take their eyes — and hands — off his bag.
"People in Lagos look at me differently since I won the $10k. The money is for me alone, I'm not sharing"
