Shocking new details have emerged following the brutal prison attack that left Canadian rapper Tory Lanez hospitalized.
The 32-year-old artist, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion, was reportedly stabbed 14 times during a violent altercation in the prison yard at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi on May 12, 2025.
Lanez’s team released a grim update via his official Instagram page, shedding light on the extent of his injuries, which are far more serious than initially reported.
“Tory was stabbed 14 times – including 7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face,” the statement read.
“Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own. Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for their continued prayers and support.”
The attack has sent shockwaves through social media and the entertainment industry, with fans and celebrities alike expressing concern and offering prayers for the embattled rapper.
While Lanez appears to be stabilizing, the severity of his injuries underscores the dangers high-profile inmates often face behind bars.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the identity or motive of the assailant, but an internal investigation is said to be underway.
Lanez has been incarcerated since August 2023 after being convicted on multiple felony counts, including assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
The case and his sentencing stirred widespread debate in hip-hop and beyond.
