Tyla will host the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards.
The South African singer-songwriter has been named the host of this year’s event, scheduled for June 21 in Santa Monica, California.
In addition to hosting, Tyla has earned nominations in two categories: Favourite Global Music Star and Favourite Music Collaboration. Tyla also makes history as the first African pop star to host the Kids’ Choice Awards.
Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Kendrick Lamar lead the nominations this year, each receiving four. They are followed by Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson, Selena Gomez, and Jelly Roll, who each secured three nods.
Newcomers to the nominations list include Gracie Abrams, Zach Bryan, Jordan Chiles, Frankie Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Doechii, Keith Lee, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, Shohei Ohtani, and Florence Pugh.
In the Favourite Female Artist category, the nominees are Grande, Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Katy Perry, Gaga, Gomez, SZA, and Taylor Swift.
The Favourite Male Artist contenders include Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Drake, Jelly Roll, Lamar, Post Malone, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott.
Albums in the running for Favourite Album are Beautifully Broken (Jelly Roll), F-1 Trillion (Post Malone), GNX (Lamar), Hurry Up Tomorrow (The Weeknd), I Said I Love You First (Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco), Mayhem (Lady Gaga), Short n’ Sweet (Sabrina Carpenter), and Wicked: The Soundtrack.
For Favourite Movie Actress, the nominees are Ariana Grande (Wicked), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Emma Myers (A Minecraft Movie), Jenna Ortega (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), Millie Bobby Brown (The Electric State), and Winona Ryder (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice).
In the Favourite Movie Actor category, Chris Evans (Red One), Chris Pratt (The Electric State), Dwayne Johnson (Red One), Jack Black (A Minecraft Movie), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), and Jim Carrey (Sonic the Hedgehog 3) are competing.
Nominated for Favourite Movie are A Minecraft Movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Captain America: Brave New World, Descendants: The Rise of Red, Paddington in Peru, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, THUNDERBOLTS and Wicked.
