Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has denied rumors of being ill, stating that he is in good health. He attributed the reports of his alleged sickness to those spreading false information.
In an interview with BBC Pidgin set to be released on Saturday evening, Wike reassured the public that he is hale and hearty.
According to Wike: “As I’m talking to you, do I look like somebody that is sick? Looking at me, will you think I’m above 30 years? I’m very well.”
Speaking about him grooming his son for politics, Wike said: “What’s wrong with that?”
This comes after reports in April suggested that he had collapsed at a function in the presidential Villa and had to seek urgent medical attention abroad.
Despite these rumors, he appeared at a Sallah homage to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa just two days later, showing no signs of ill health. His media aide also dismissed the reports as false.
The minister believes that these rumors are an attempt to distract from recent revelations made by the former Rivers Head of Service, George Nwaeke.
