Legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has opened up about the emotional and psychological toll of his marriage to his estranged wife, actress Annie Macaulay.
In a teaser for an upcoming episode of the +234 Mzansi Podcast—co-hosted by comedians Nedu, Acapella, and South African media personality Kifilwe—the African Queen hitmaker described his marital experience as deeply troubling.
“This thing wey dem call ‘living in bondage’ is real. There were some people who were ready to kill me,” 2Baba said, alluding to threats he claimed to have faced during the course of the marriage.
2Baba and Annie tied the knot in May 2012 and share two daughters, Isabella and Olivia. However, their relationship has often been under public scrutiny, marred by allegations of infidelity and emotional conflict.
The veteran singer announced his separation from Annie on January 26, 2025, in a controversial post shared on his social media platforms.
Shortly after the announcement, 2Baba made headlines again by unveiling his new partner, Natasha Osawuru, a sitting member of the Edo State House of Assembly.
