Record producer Benny Blanco has ruled out the possibility of holding live shows to promote I Said I Love You First, his collaborative album with fiancée Selena Gomez.
During a recent appearance on the Hot Hits with Nic & Loren podcast, Benny Blanco candidly dismissed any plans to take the album on tour. When asked whether fans could expect any live performances, his answer was swift and honest.
“That’s like my worst nightmare,” he admitted. “Doing live shows… like anytime I had to do SNL (Saturday Night Live) or like AMAs (American Music Awards) I’m always just like, ‘When’s it over? When’s it over?'”
The 37-year-old music producer emphasized his preference for the comforts of home. “I just want to be home on my couch,” he added.
The conversation took a playful turn when co-host Loren Barry suggested a more relaxed approach: Selena performing live while Benny Blanco lounges beside her on a couch. Benny responded lightheartedly, “Honestly, not a bad idea, guys.”
Co-host Nic Kelly then chimed in, joking, “Selena and Benny on a couch tour, coming to a city near you,” to which Benny responded with dry humor, “Can’t wait.”
The duo’s joint album was released on March 21 and marked a deeply personal project for both artists. Shortly after its debut, Selena, 32, took to Instagram to express gratitude to Benny.
“Benny, thank you for being my own personal journal throughout this process,” she wrote. “These songs represent our past, present and future… something I can’t wait to experience with you from now until forever. Thank you for pouring your unconditional love into creating this project with me.”
