Cardi B has once again proven she’s unbothered and unstoppable, even as her personal life plays out in the public eye. In a fiery Instagram Live session, the Bronx-born rapper clapped back at critics and trolls who have been dragging her name and family through the mud amid her ongoing divorce from fellow rapper Offset.
Cardi B and Offset’s relationship has long been marked by ups and downs. Married in 2017, the couple first faced divorce talks in 2020, only to reconcile and stay together for four more years. However, their most recent split in July 2024 seems to signal a more permanent end. Since then, Cardi has been romantically linked to NFL star Stefon Diggs, while Offset has continued to make music — and headlines — on his own.
Speaking directly to her detractors, Cardi B had a few choice words:
“If you’re praying on my downfall, I’m gonna advise you right now, pray for your granny. Pray for your granny that’s dying, pray for your sick auntie, pray for your fking parents […] pray for them. Don’t pray for my downfall because it’s never gonna work,” she said.
She added, “It’s been too long […] I ain’t going nowhere […] Just accept it. Just accept that I’m a winning a b***h.”
As if to prove her point, both Cardi and Offset released new music the same day. Offset dropped “Bodies” with Atlanta rapper JID — a track that samples rock band Drowning Pool — while Cardi released “Outside,” which many fans believe is a thinly veiled jab at her estranged husband. The song is also rumored to be the lead single for her long-awaited second album, which was recently submitted to Atlantic Records.
While the divorce continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Cardi B isn’t slowing down. Between her bold public statements and the promise of new music, the rap queen is once again in control of her narrative — and her throne.
