The Chairperson of Epe Local Government Area, Princess Saurah Animashaun, has reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to delivering people-oriented projects that will benefit residents, especially the poor and vulnerable.
Speaking during a visit to the Oloja of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, in his palace, the chairperson emphasized that her government remains focused on using the council’s resources to drive grassroots development.
Animashaun highlighted that over the past four years, her administration has prioritized the welfare of Epe’s people, ensuring that various segments of society enjoy the benefits of democracy.
“We have made deliberate efforts to ensure that every ward benefits from projects such as roads, healthcare, education, drainage systems, and culverts,” she stated.
She revealed that:

Over 20,000 indigent residents, including tertiary students, have benefited from various empowerment schemes.

At least 10,000 senior citizens and vulnerable individuals receive support under the council’s safety net programme.
Princess Animashaun also lauded the contributions of Epe’s traditional institutions, expressing gratitude to Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun for supporting her administration’s peace and development efforts.
In his response, the monarch commended the chairperson’s humility, dedication, and efforts toward economic and social growth in the council area.
“When leaders show humility, they attract divine blessings. We appreciate your service to humanity and your commitment to the people of Epe,” Oba Animashaun remarked.
The visit is seen as part of the chairperson’s ongoing community engagement strategy aimed at fostering unity and sustainable development in the area.
