Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will not be taking the stand in his ongoing criminal trial, as his defense team officially rests its case without calling a single witness.
Despite earlier hints from Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, that the music mogul might testify in his own defense, the legal team decided to rely solely on submitted evidence.
The defense primarily focused on text messages and communications allegedly showing accusers Cassie and “Jane” as willing participants in controversial “freak-off” parties.
Legal experts have noted that putting Diddy on the stand would have been a major risk, as prosecutors—armed with extensive evidence—were prepared for an aggressive cross-examination.
Prosecutors concluded their case by presenting testimony from Homeland Security Agent Joseph Cerciello, who outlined crucial documents including flight records, hotel invoices, and payment receipts connecting Diddy, his accusers, and alleged male escorts.
The jury was also shown additional explicit video content linked to the case.
With both sides resting on Tuesday, closing arguments are scheduled for Thursday, and a verdict could be announced as soon as Friday.
