Elijah Blue Allman, the son of music icon Cher and the late Gregg Allman, has reportedly been discharged from hospital following treatment for a drug overdose.
Last week, TMZ reported that the musician was rushed to a Southern California hospital after emergency services responded to a call about a man “behaving erratically.”
A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department later confirmed that “deputies located drugs inside the home” and stated that an investigation remains ongoing.
On Sunday, insiders told TMZ that Elijah has now returned to his property near Joshua Tree and “continues to recover.”
While representatives for the 48-year-old have not officially responded to the report, sources close to the family shared that Cher is “doing everything she can to get him the help he needs.”
Meanwhile, Elijah’s estranged wife, Marieangela King, released a heartfelt statement to *People* voicing her ongoing support.
“I want to state, without hesitation, that I will always root for him,” she said. “My support is steadfast and comes from a place of deep respect for the person he is and the resilience he continues to show.”
Elijah has been candid about his battle with substance abuse. In 2023, Cher filed for a conservatorship to oversee his personal and financial affairs due to ongoing concerns. However, that temporary motion was dismissed in early 2024, with legal representatives confirming the matter had been “privately resolved” through mediation.
As he continues his recovery journey, those close to Elijah remain hopeful and committe
d to his well-being.
