Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has officially announced her permanent exit from the music industry, revealing that she has now dedicated her life to Christian ministry and real estate ventures.
The Edo State-born artiste, who rose to stardom in 2013 under Jude Okoye’s Northside Entertainment, announced in a video posted to social media on Friday, June 28. Her declaration came a day after a separate video, in which she appeared teary-eyed, sparked concern among fans.
Addressing the video, Cynthia clarified that it was old footage and expressed appreciation to those who reached out to her.
“There is no going back to music,” she said firmly. “I’m now into ministry and real estate.”
Cynthia, now 33, gained national recognition with hit singles like Don’t Break My Heart and Lead Me On, earning a Headies nomination and carving out a unique presence in Nigeria’s dancehall scene. However, her career trajectory faltered following a widely publicized fallout with her former label boss, Jude Okoye.
In 2020, during an emotional interview, Cynthia claimed she lost her stage name, royalties, VEVO account, and Instagram page due to the contract she signed with Okoye.
The revelation ignited widespread public sympathy and support, with prominent artists such as Davido offering to help her relaunch her music career.
Despite attempts at a comeback, Cynthia gradually began shifting her focus toward spirituality. In recent years, she made headlines for prophetic declarations, including claims in 2023 that she foresaw Funke Akindele’s political career and issued warnings about Wizkid’s well-being.
In Friday’s video, the singer-turned-minister confirmed that her decision to leave music is final.
“I’ve moved on,” she said, stressing that she has found peace in her new calling.
While she did not disclose specific details about her real estate ventures, Cynthia emphasized that her priorities have shifted entirely, and she no longer intends to pursue a music career.
The announcement marks a significant turning point in the once-prominent singer’s journey, as she embarks on a new chapter rooted in faith and business.
