Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), David Olaniyi Oyedepo, has reaffirmed that his calling into ministry was not earned by merit but granted by divine grace.
Speaking during the monthly leadership empowerment summit on Saturday, Bishop Oyedepo expressed deep gratitude to God for choosing to use him as a vessel to build the church and empower lives.
“Where we are today is not by power nor by might, but by the manifold grace of God. My call to ministry was not by merit but just by grace,” Oyedepo stated.
He recalled a divine encounter where God entrusted him with a mandate:
“God told me, ‘I have given you the people; now build them with me by putting brighter light into them.’”
According to Oyedepo, this divine commission is centered on raising a revolutionary end-time army—a generation empowered by deep revelations and spiritual attraction, set to make impact globally.
He added that God’s call came with a sober reminder of accountability:
“God once told me, ‘It’s not that you are better; I have more than a thousand ready to take over if you missed it.’”
Encouraging church leaders around the world, Oyedepo urged them to continually seek grace to serve faithfully and obey every spiritual instruction.
“We got here not just by direction, but by diverse corrections. No man is all-knowing. That’s why we have Jesus as the Master,” he emphasized.
“We are liable to get things wrong, but refusing correction can be costly. God will never back what He hasn’t commanded.”
Recalling a critical turning point in his early ministry, he revealed how God redirected him:
“We had packed our bags to go to Jos, and I heard God say, ‘You are not going to Jos.’”
Bishop Oyedepo’s message stands as a reminder of the role of grace, obedience, and divine guidance in fulfilling one’s calling and purpose in ministry.
