Jadon Sancho has finally broken his silence after Chelsea decided not to convert his loan deal into a permanent transfer, resulting in his return to Manchester United.
The agreement between the Red Devils and Chelsea included an obligation to make the move permanent for a fee potentially reaching £25 million. However, negotiations regarding personal terms between Sancho and Chelsea did not reach a successful conclusion.
As a result, Chelsea will now pay a £5 million penalty fee to United, as reported by The Athletic. Despite some moments of success at Stamford Bridge, including scoring in the Conference League final win over Real Betis, Sancho’s future remains uncertain following this development.
“Grateful for the experience,” he wrote.
“Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home – teammates, staff and the fans. Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, thank you, Blues.”
