Popular Nigerian on-air personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi has shared an uncomfortable experience she had while hosting a wedding as the Master of Ceremonies (MC).
According to Gbemi, the incident involved the bride’s father, who she claimed attempted to embarrass and irritate her during the event.
Recounting the experience, Gbemi explained that while she tried to maintain professionalism and ensure the smooth running of the celebration, the bride’s father continuously made condescending remarks and disruptive interjections throughout the ceremony. Despite the efforts to throw her off balance, she managed to keep her composure and carry on with the job.
She said the man’s behaviour seemed intentional and inappropriate for such a joyous occasion. Still, she added that she was thankful for her calm temperament and years of experience, which helped her handle the situation gracefully.
