The jury in Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ ongoing s£x-trafficking and racketeering trial was visibly unsettled on Monday as prosecutors presented explicit video evidence reportedly from the music mogul’s notorious “Freak Off” parties.
According to Mail Online, reactions in the jury box ranged from discomfort to shock as the court was shown three video clips — each lasting between 20 to 39 minutes — depicting alleged explicit acts that form part of the prosecution’s case.
The videos were reportedly recorded in October 2012 at the Trump International Hotel in New York, featuring Diddy’s former partner, Cassie Ventura, and two male escorts identified as “The Punisher” and “Dave.”
Though only brief segments of the footage were played for the jury, the clips were enough to elicit strong emotional responses. One Black female juror was seen wincing and furrowing her brow, while another shifted uneasily and rested her head on her hand.
“Music and what appeared to be groaning were faintly heard in the courtroom,” reports state, though the videos themselves were only visible to jurors on a prosecution laptop, with audio fed directly through headphones for their ears only.
Still photographs from the same incident had been shown in earlier proceedings.
In a rare instance of agreement, both Combs’ legal team and that of Cassie Ventura had requested that the graphic footage remain private, a motion that Judge Arun Subramanian upheld in respect of the trial’s sensitivity and the dignity of those involved.
Additionally, the court dismissed a juror amid concerns over misleading information about his residency, raising questions about his impartiality. A 57-year-old white accountant from Westchester County replaced him.
The trial, which has gripped public attention, is expected to continue for several weeks as more disturbing details emerge.
