Kano State Government Shuts Schools for Eid-el-Kabir Break Starting June 4

The Kano State Government has announced the closure of all primary and secondary schools—both public and private—for the Eid-el-Kabir holiday, beginning Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

According to a statement released by the Kano State Ministry of Education, the holiday affects both day and boarding schools, and is scheduled to last until Sunday, June 15, 2025. The decision aligns with the current 2024/2025 academic calendar.

Key Directives:

  • Boarding students are to be picked up by their parents or guardians on the morning of June 4, enabling them to spend the festive season with their families.

  • All students are expected to resume on June 15, with full academic activities resuming immediately.

  • The holiday does not alter any other part of the school calendar, and all previously scheduled academic and public events remain unchanged.
