Kim Kardashian has spoken out against the ongoing ICE raids in Los Angeles, which have sparked widespread protests across the country.
The reality star and entrepreneur used her massive 356 million Instagram followers to express concern over the treatment of immigrants in her hometown, following President Donald Trump’s deployment of thousands of National Guard troops and 700 Marines to the city without California Governor Gavin Newsom’s approval. Newsom criticized the move, calling it an action that “inflamed a combustible situation,” with the state mounting a legal challenge.
Kim shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying:
“When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals—great. But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right.”
She further stressed the value of immigrants in Los Angeles:
“Growing up in LA, I’ve seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city. They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family… There HAS to be a BETTER way.”
Her post adds to the growing voices of celebrities and public figures condemning the controversial immigration enforcement measures.
